But in the case of writers they should never be living paycheck to paycheck when the industry of consuming television and movies has INCREASED while their pay has stagnated.

What he is saying is quite clear. The Tech industry and art industry facing massive layoffs and or stagnated pay while their industries BOOM. Makes no sense. Yes we are all going through it but writers is a unique struggle in that sense. Because they are being devalued while they are clearly needed.

    let's all strike

    let's all strike

We unironically should the difference is writers and artist are more pro union . The general working class turns against each other even faster saying "be grateful you have a job at all" . Post pandemic chaos and during the pandemic the fact that there was no strike is actually pathetic

this is not what is going to happen unfortunately. Also we can't really have a renaissance when from what we are gathering they want to sign people. To not only to write but to take their writing and input it into AI algorithm so that in the future they don't need the human themselves

I agree but I just wanted more information before I made up my mind and no one was able to provide anything besides "2%" which doesn't tell me anything on its own

What more information do you need
Workers want more employers don’t want to give more
Workers created the product the employers sale so either play ball or get no product

Part of the strike has to do with it apparently I wasn't joking. Studios want to when they sign a writer input the writing into a AI database of some sort so its essentially machine learning from anything they write. It all sounds oddly dystopian.
