Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley with Dennis Quad in a body horror pic. Fargeat's film Revenge was stylish and brutal. This has Universal behind it so it could be a sleeper hit. Drops at Cannes.
Todd Solondz is calling it his first movie with a plot, and the synopsis sounds like his own twist on mainstream 90s/00s flicks. A kid tries to break his mother and her new boyfriend up. Imagine the darkest version of that.
This was originally going to be Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell, but I'm into the younger casting. The same producer that did May December which was Charles Melton's big breakout.
Caitlin Cronenberg's feature film debut. High concept, bottled film. A tense family dinner after a population collapse. Jay Baruchel taking another real role hot off of BlackBerry. Distribution by IFC and Shudder and the Cronenberg name. Probably a good time.
Love Child has been on my radar for sure. Another one starring Olsen I’m interested in is called His Three Daughters (also starring Natasha Lyon and Carrie Coon) it premiered at festivals last year but hasn’t been released
I’ll add more to thread I just have to remember the names of some of the movies I’ve read about lol

Solondz is such an interesting director in the post 2016 climate and he's been absent from it.

I can’t say I’m too familiar with his work. Looking through his filmography I haven’t seen anything by him. I’ll have to go through some of them to get familiar with his voice before Love Child

I'd start with Happiness or Welcome to the Dollhouse. Palindromes and Storytelling are really out there. Palindromes especially. Can't believe that movie got made. Nothing like it.
A Traveler’s Needs (Hong Sang-soo)
Hard Truths (Mike Leigh)
Serpent’s Path remake (Kiyoshi Kurosawa)
The Second Act (Quentin Dupieux)
There are more probably but can’t think of any atm, so I’ll update this

A French remake of his own movie? Crazy

I don’t really like the OG too much so I’m hoping that this one does more for me
Hopefully he felt that way too cause I don’t see why he would remake it otherwise lol

I haven't seen it, but I f***ed with Pulse, Cure, Seance, and Tokyo Sonata.
Sounds like a good candidate for a remake
