Edson Gomes, De la Soul, Erykah Badu, Pharoah Sanders, Marvin Gaye.
That said, I may need to get into some music off this one.

Thank you for listening to prostitute
Did you find them from the hardcore thread, the noise rock thread, or outside of ktt? I'm always curious with them gaining so much traction yet not releasing anything new (aside from the feature on the newer armed album)
Haven't done one of these in awhile. If anyone here fw hardcore this new crush your soul album is so good. They do such a good job fusing some elements of hip hop but without letting it get corny (I like kaonashi, soul glo, gridiron, e town concrete etc etc but the corniness is part of their charm)
Also I promised the world WILL blow up, just a matter of time. Cool emo in line with Vs Self
Godzilla nether portal is actually a new avant garde noise rock band though the name sounds like dumb meme slam. If anyone here liked that Shearling album from last year, or nosie rock similiar to (modern/21st century) Swans the EP is probably going to be really enjoyable

Damn that's actually crazy they're getting reccomended like that now
Well do check out MDOP - their demo is amazing but they did a split with cemetery girl (asymmetrical warfare) and their songs on it are super in line with prostitute (they're way better performers but still have no real solo album. Prostitute was cool live but the vocalist is more of an off the walls oddball typa presence opposed to strong speech giver). That 2023 demo is what should be the soundtrack to those ICE protests, I swear they should be the modern rage against the machine - legit amazing live every damn time I damn near tear up at the imagery
And of course the armed had an amazing album last year with prostitute on it which is super polished, but they're big enough to be on cyberpunk and s*** (they toured with the hirs kinda recently and they're another amazing Detroit noise punk band). I think it's my highest rated metal album last year
Michigan got some of the best noise hardcore out right now fr. I can give so many more local recommendations but I'll stop here lol
Unless.. you like mathcore, then I will plug wounded touch as well just cause they are incredible and I keep forgetting they have like no following for some reason. Basically Detroits Botch/converge/Dillinger escape plan/gaza/daughters rn

their debut is pretty great. Initially thought it was going to be rather inconclusive but it was a great listen

It's only up from there in the unwound discog imo
Future of What, Repetition and especially Leaves Turn Inside You are all essential music

I can't stop thinking of you
The things we used to do
The secrets we once shared
I'll always... find them there
In my memories
But this heartache isn't going anywhere
In the public eye I act like
I don't care
When there's no one
Watching me
I'm crying
