Black Swan - 9/10

Acting masterclass by Natalie Portman. The film was tense all the way, developing into chaotic, and makes you question reality - what is true and who to trust? When it seems like her entire world is against her, you slowly start to realize Nina's situation throughout the movie and experience her justified crash out with her. And it's beautiful. Both visually and plot wise. The story really makes you think.
Leon: The Professional - 7/10

A lot of good and a lot of bad in this movie. I understand why it's a classic and overall it's well shot and entertaining. Solid acting from the main cast, nice cinematography and imaging. Gripping action when shown. Problem is the weirdly sexual behavior from Matilda. Made me feel uncomfortable. This could be intentional but there are better ways to write this. Didn't age well especially with the director being a pedo himself. Still a good movie though.
The Social Network - 7/10

My "original" take on this film - every character in this story is an a******. But at the same time, none of them are that bad. They're all just rich people trying to create their own legacy. And rich people screw over each other. All of the main cast screwed over others or were complicit in hurting others, for personal gain. They are not very emotionally compelling and all seem self centered.
The film is vague in picking sides which is a good thing. It's very Pro-Edwardo and is based off a pro-Edwardo book. However it's sympathetic to Mark and you can definitely see the mistakes Edwardo has made, mostly not being involved in the company at a crucial time.
The main cast of actors was solid (star-studded) and the climax scene was great (as I've seen a million times in YouTube shorts). Rest of the story is played straight forward, but interesting and well written.
Men In Black - 7/10

Watched with a friend. Funny lighthearted movie. Good for what it is. While it suggests world ending stakes I was happy the climax was just them fighting a big alien. I also miss 90 minute movies and wish we had those outside of Netflix. Pretty silly and imaginative, doesn't take itself too seriously.
Will Smith is fun in this and has a good performance. I should've watched this movie as a kid maybe.
The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil

Cruel Intentions - 8.5/10

Trash, but to be fair I f***ed up and didn't see the first one. I thought the og was chapter 1 but there's an actual one that came out last year.

Ok so Robin is an independent candidate running for president and he’s in a debate rn.
He’s going off in the debate and they’re trying to tell him to sit down and go back to his podium.
The moderator goes “Mr Dobbs you’re making a mockery of this process”
He goes “you all have been making a mockery of this process way before I showed up”
