Yeah Iāve never understood that either, I thought forsure GKMC wouldāve had one. It was so ironic that Compton featured Dre but wasnāt produced by him
I think in that case Dre was going to produce some s*** for GKMC, but when Kendrick bought it him for him to start tinkering with it, Dre was like " its perfect as is" and chose not to produce anything further.
It surprised me he didn't produce on TPAB either. With how involved Dre was behind the scenes on that album, i'm certain they probably have a couple Dre produced songs for TPAB in the vault for whatever reason.
I would love a tracklist honestly. When that FEAR/GOD/DUCKWORTH sequence came out I was like
what are we in for
Seeing that was crazy for real
Then I heard GOD

Great points, makes sense. & I had no idea Dre was that involved with TPAB, thatās dope

dre executive produced the album tho, he probably had a lot of input on the albums sonics and layout
I dont think Dre's type of beatmaking and production suit Kendrick's voice honestly, Jay Rock and Q would kill that s*** tho

The executive producer title is pretty suspect though tbh. Cuz like Dre was an executive producer for s*** like GKMC and TPAB, and then he was also an executive producer for Revival. Like how deep is the involvement??

Yup exactly

omg how could I forget that, yeah that was classic
Relistened to DAMN, and having XXX and FEAR back to back is GOAT s***
FEAR is easily top tier Kendrick.
And that last verse on XXX is one of Kendrick's best

Dre was also credited with mixing some tracks on gkmc

Co-mixing with Ali right?

Wasnāt there a rumor Dre was LoveDragon in the production credits?

That was debunked. LoveDragon was Josef Leimberg + Terrance Martin

I believe so, Iād have to check the booklet again but yeah
Still I think Dre was probably most hands on with gkmc as far as those albums you named, heās probably more present for the debut of an artist to make sure it starts off right and then letās them steer

Yes I agree with that. He was definitely hands on with GKMC despite not producing on it, same with TPAB.

He helped mixing thatās it. He wasnāt involved on the music end. Kendrick said his songs with dre are for a special project.

You think hes got Dre produced songs from the GKMC & TPAB sessions just chilling in the vaults, waiting for release?

Wasnāt the rumour that lovedragon was 3k or something?

Kendrick told breakfast club that he has a lot of Dre songs that they are saving for a special project. That was at around tpab time.

Love dragon is Josef Leimberg

I would probably get emotional if one of these albums was all Dre produced. That would be such a beautiful full circle moment.
