No more livin' poor, meet my four-four
When I see 'em, put the per diem on the floor
Now Kendrick, know they're your co-workers
But it's gon' take a lot 'fore this pistol go cold turkey
Now I can watch his watch on the TV and be okay
But see I'm on the clock once that watch landin' in LA
I’ve always wondered how did Kendrick formulate the idea for the Mortal Man 2Pac interview and reworking the poem he’s reciting throughout the album
F***ing insane concept

the most impressive thing is that he pulled off the 2pac interview without being corny, 99% of artists would get flamed to death for doing that

it's still a lil bit corny tbh

I believe this was covered in the Big Hits Show spotify podcast. Probably in the last episode since they mostly cover the album in order. I don’t recall the exact story, but I think the guy who originally interviewed Tupac offered the rare audio during the TPAB album creation process and Kendrick ran from there.
Kendrick not announcing an album if it ain't for sure coming out, he ain't Kanye
are people in here really still questioning if it's coming out? lol
crazy but the only rollout we need at this point is the album cover reveal and a pre-save like a few days before release

Nothing beats the hype of a hit single

Idk about the interview part but the album concept was crazy
it's still a lil bit corny tbh
only the idea of it could be seen as corny to me
the execution was far from cringe. s*** was natural asf

Was definitely corny just that it's Kendrick and people don't critique Kendrick like that lol.
Anybody else does the exact same thing in the same way it's objectively seen as corny. It's a fake interview with someone who passed.
The overall quality of the album probably helped too. Put that skit on some trash it's prob a different story

Remember he was in the lab with Pharrell earlier this year. They’re 4/5 so we can get something crazy.
