As a lyricist I consider him one of the greatest ever. I would never downplay that.

His music overall, I haven’t said anything that isn’t true about Lupe. He is hit and miss musically.

I think he had a miss period but since 2015 all his music has been pretty solid besides Light which had some misses

And his initial run was all classic, but he definitely had an iffy period

Yeah but Lupe is still Lupe to me regardless of the era. Even though musically he started missing after The Cool, he never declined as an overall lyricist. I’d argue Tetsuo and Youth is some of his most lyrical work.
