kendrick being so meticulous when crafting his albums is what makes me return to them so often (on top of it being great music ofc). one of the best music moments for me ever was finally understanding TPAB and all the heavy themes that album carries, cause i sure as s*** didnt get them when i first heard it as a sophomore in hs a real full circle moment

it blows my mind when certain people want him to simplify his s*** by making a tape of him rapping over beats on some griselda/gangsta grillz type s***. like im sure itll sound good for sure but that sounds creatively bankrupt to do something like that just to appease a loud minority

The thing is… people can talk hiphop and sports metaphors till they’re blue in the face but at the end of the day, this is art - not a sport. People can make it as competitive as they want, but if someone else doing the art is apathetic to competition and just trying to create dope s***, that isn’t a knock on their talent.
