Just cause y’all didn’t like the album doesn’t mean he needs to redeem himself. Morale is a special project and no one can give a clear reason why they don’t like it other than ā€œit’s boringā€ lol

Nigga rapped his ass off on that album

Morale is one of my fav projects from him and better than any Cole album but Kendrick not going on the feature run Cole is in any sense of the word

I've posted my criticisms of the album multiple times on here (pretty sure at you even before), but yall just dismiss anything negative someone has to say about an album with clear flaws everytime

Anyway, he was not "rapping his ass off" stop it. Jay Z was rapping his ass off on Marcy Me, Kendrick was rapping his ass off on Wats Wrong. Album does not have moments like that

Denzel Curry had an album addressing similar subject matter, he still had bars. Jay Z had an album addressing similar subject matter, he was able to show remorse for his cheating better than Kendrick was and had better bars. Mick Jenkin's The Patience has a shorter runtime, but I guarantee I can post more bars from that album than you can from Mr Morale

There's a lot of good things to say about Morale, but "rapping his ass off" is not one of them

If Marcy me is Jay rapping his ass off then Count me out is Kendrick rapping his ass off. Multiple moments throughout the album like that. But I also think Kendrick should be trying to go crazy on feature and show people he's still him like Cole

Flow wise, yes Count Me Out is impressive. But when I say bars, I'm talking about punchlines and witty wordplay. Lines that have you like when you catch it. It's a fundamental aspect of rap imo and Count Me Out/Mr Morale in general doesn't have many of those

He got some nice wordplay on there tbh, the album not punchline heavy tho like Jay z. Kendrick really hasn't been punchline heavy on his albums since S80 tho

If it’s fundamental to you then I get it but Biggie and Pac didn’t rap like that and they’ve been considered the pinnacle of hip-hop.

I’d say punchline rap didn’t become so crucial to a rapper until Wayne was on top of the game.

Yeah, really its just a personal preference to have punchlines. But he did say 'imo' to be fair

Read the discussion dumbass. Us saying Kendrick's rapping isn't what it was years ago was reduced to "you just didn't like the album"

Morale is pretty much the only music we have to go on over the last 5 years. If you're saying he's not barring out, then you agree with us that he's not washing Cole Because their recent output is what we're basing that on and Cole has been snapping in his

Y’all just like to argue. Kendrick obviously takes a song writing approach with his albums.

    For example:

    B**** don’t kill my vibe

    Vs

B**** don’t kill my vibe remix

If you haven’t noticed he has been doing this since 2012 then you’re just dense.

He isn’t barring out on these albums. Let it go.

Enjoy the music or don’t. But Kendrick isn’t about yo turn into Fabolous for your pleasure.

And yea he is still spitting his ass off. He just isn’t doing it how you want him to.

That's what I'm trying to say with bringing up Denzel Curry and Jay Z - it doesn't have to be one or the other. So that's not an excuse imo, I can critique Kendrick for lacking in that aspect.

And it's not strictly punchlines or Fabolous type rapping I'm talking about, I'm talking about clever wordplay. Lines for you to catch. Other than the part on Father Time where he uses financial jargon, there's little of that on Mr Morale.

BDKMV does have this kind of thing btw.
"How can I paint this picture when the color blind is hanging witcha?
Fell on my face and awoke with a scar, another mistake livin deep in my heart
Wear it on top of my sleeve in a flick"
Talks about painting pictures, then a flick like a camera picture
