Any thoughts on how those titles reflect that?
Father Time and We Cry Together are probably the biggest examples on disc 1. Worldwide Steppers too I guess since he basically critiquing cancel culture. On disc 2 u have Mr. Morale, Crown, Savior, Mother I Sober, and Mirror which are all definitely more personal than anything on disc 1
cant believe so many ppl dont f*** w crown man
s*** sound like kendrick doing a radiohead song

I meant the actual title of the album
Tap dancing around the conversation makes sense for Big Steppers, but I don't quite get Mr Morale even though I know what the word Morale means. Maybe the motivation to change
The title also gives me fable/bedtime story vibes, like "Jack and the Beanstalk". So it's a story he's telling for his kids to learn from. But that feels like a reach

Oh lmao. Yea I'm not sure about Mr Morale either. Maybe because he feels or felt like he's carrying the entire world on his back so it's on him if our morale goes up or down? Ties into the savior s***

i feel like the whole of disc 2 is bout breaking the savior complex for the most part
which goes against what he preached on his first 2 albums, so he prolly dealing with the morality of that which where Mr. Morale could stem from
just what i get from it tho
Imma killer
He's a killer
She's a killer, B****!
we some killers
walking zombies tryna scratch that itch

I'm starting to think there's not a clear split and that's intentional. Like Father Time may be considered personal to his upbringing, thus Mr Morale which is actually the Big Steppers. But there's also some commentary on how men in general have daddy issues and this feeds into toxic behavior in relationships like we see on We Cry Together
I'm going to need to sit with this album a lot longer. Crazy how it ties into his older lyrics and recontextualizes some of them
I’m ready to start hating on this project
aint u been doing that the past 3 days ctfu
I respect the hell out of Kendrick for his honesty and courage to speak on the topics that he does on this album. However, the ambition doesn’t quite match the final product of work. Def feels less polished and less cohesive than his other projects. 8.0/10 🤷🏽♂️
I like how Big steppers is his egoic mind, blaming everything on society and himself. callous and dismissive on the first half of the first half. and as it goes on he gets and more and more soft hearted and resilient wit tracks like purple heart and rich spirit.
and the second half after the session 10 breakthrough is him taking accountability, processing trauma, attaining understanding, and setting boundaries. He sounds so fragile on alot of the songs on the second half.
This s*** is sequenced perfectly and i love how it doesnt beat us over the head with its message. He learned alot since tpab

It all goes back to the s***addiction or how Kendrick calls it 'lust addiction'. That's the main theme of the album. Cheating for 15 years on his wife and going to therapy for it. And the therapy shows it stems from certain problems. That's why he breaks to his fans he's not a 'savior' and just a man with his own problems. He's looking in the mirror

Yeah it's really dope it ties in with older albums
