The therapy/I chose me angle of the album is what I find most resonant right now. If you've ever been through therapy before, it's a process of individuation and self-actualization more than anything else. Your therapist isn't trying to make you into a better philanthropist, they're trying to make you a better version of yourself, for the betterment of yourself. It seems selfish on the surface, but any therapist worth their salt will tell you that you can't love anyone else to the fullest if you can't love yourself and prioritize your needs.

Of course, his nuclear family is high on his list of priorities as well. I see a lot of parallels between what Kendrick is going through and the "cover Nori in lamb's wool" attitude that Kanye was on during the TLOP era, circling the wagons and shielding his family from the chaos outside.
