SegaDreamFlashfacts they did too much at once, Genesis, CD, Saturn and Dreamcast all in the same decade is nuts lol compared to Nintendo who kept it small and let their consoles have a long shelf life

Before Sega ever made the Saturn.SONY tried to collaborate with NINTENDO bruh. But Nintendo was like f*** that, we're finna do our own thing.
So boom.
Felling snubbed, Sony noticed how Nintendo was on the rise and they wanted to partner with Sega to make a whole CONSOLE.
Like I reiterate... that Sony who would go on to make the PLAYSTATION CONSOLES.. wanted to collaborate with Sega on a full fledged console together just to take Nintendo on lol
"In a recent interview about E3 1995, Sega of America's former CEO Tom Kalinske gave MCV further details about talks between the two companies, which ultimately fell through.
"Sony came to us after they had been rebuffed by Nintendo," Kalinske recalled. āThey had wanted Nintendo to use some technology that they had, and Nintendo instead chose to work with Philips. That really annoyed Sony. Olaf Olafsson Sony Electronic Publishing President and Micky Schulhof President of Sony America came to my office and said, 'Tom, we really donāt like Nintendo. You donāt like Nintendo. We have this little studio down in Santa Monica Imagesoft working on video games, we donāt know what to do with it, weād like Segaās help in training our guys. And we think the optical disc will be the best format.'"
Kalinske went to the head of Sega who vetoed the idea.
Niggas made the Saturn, and Sony went on to do the Playstation which eclipsed the Saturn. Crazy s***.
But what really killed them was the failure of the Dreamcast. Dreamcast was ahead of it's time but could not compete with what Sony & Nintendo had going on in the 90s, early 2000s.
Funnily enough Microsoft tried to collaborate with Sega on a console, but they would turn Microsoft down as they wanted to focus on just making games at this point, cuz their console experiences left them a bit spurned.
Microsoft would go on to make the XBOX.
So yea we could've gotten Sega / Sony and Sega / Microsoft console collabs
