I might be pretty late, but quite a few times lately I’ve enjoyed a beat and saw that Tae Beast was behind it, had it with Worldwide Steppers and also when I heard Punchin the Clock on Off Season and Soccer Dad by Schoolboy

I think it’s really good/great but I’m not in love with it like most people ITT.

Think there are some problems with the sequencing, a few songs that don’t fit on the album whatsoever, and I think Kendrick lost some of the subtlety that made his songwriting so genius in the past.

The production is solid throughout, but I think the instrumentals are more of a backdrop to Kendrick’s incredible vocal performances all over the album, rather than standing out on its own with him. I don’t think there’s a single instrumental on here as memorable/outstanding as songs like Money Trees, King Kunta, Alright, Momma, FEAR., etc.

The two sides feel a little disjointed and uneven. I think the first side is overall a lot superior to and more tonally consistent than the second side. Both sides have stumbles in the sequencing, but I think it’s a lot more apparent in the second half.

I still think it’s a great album overall, I’d give it an 8/10, but I don’t think it’s the flawless masterpiece that a lot of people are saying it is. I’d rank it third/fourth in his discography, right behind DAMN. and either right ahead of or behind GKMC.

I believe it's a top 3 Kendrick album no doubt & may even be his opus.

Buuut, I feel like the only thing that's going to weather this album is its replay value.

It's a masterpiece thematically, musically, etc.

But it's not something you can put on every day.

I appreciate TF out of it though cause it transcends music.

Tae Beast needs more love. Sounwave takes the shine, but Tae underrated

Tbh this might be his magnum opus. This reminds me of the distinction between Mbdtf and LR.
I prefer LR but MBDTF is so well rounded lyrically and production similar to the way this is compared to TPAB.

I’m going to be honest after hearing this I feel like Kendrick deserved a Pulitzer for either this or TPAB.
TPAB still my favorite and number 1 Kendrick album but the more I listen to this the more it hits.

people always talk about Rocky’s visuals (which are dope af of course), but i don’t really see mainstream praise for Kendrick’s visuals, which is weird since his MVs are usually really good and interesting
