I can see it if Kendrick got the vocal performance from Kim but wouldnāt be surprised if he didnāt because Kendrick has done some really over the top vocal performances before like u to convey an emotion. The song really highlights a lot of toxic relationship argument points in the black community specifically and honestly niggas heard their parents argue like that and sound just like that we didnāt have to get that from Eminem.
Also the songs do 2 completely different things, one is Eminem releasing his anger in a song that he felt towards his wife. Kendrickās song isnāt from a place of anger but really just showcasing a point of what a toxic relationship can sound like. Iām not saying he couldnāt have looked at Kim for vocal performance inspiration because I definitely see the similarities whether he did or not and it just rubs me the wrong way to write it off as an Eminem type song when Kim and We Cry Together have 2 completely different messages and are rooted in different things, Kim is fantasy while We Cry Together is directly taken from a lot of our realities
Plus We Cry is genuinely a good song, it was executed perfectly.

Yeah and I honestly appreciate Kim from a vocal performance perspective but We Cry Together is a performance piece on relationship issues that plague the black community and offer both perspective, Kim is just Eminemās personal feelings.

i wonder if there were more perspective based songs it seems like the prayer and the heart part 5 were a part of an earlier version of this album
Nah the hearts are always loosies, they are never part of the project. except part 2 which became a track of the mixtape OD.
All the other hearts tho are always loosies, they are almost never part of the project nor an indicator of what its going to be.
But all the hearts do fit the same theme: critique and reflection on current events/trends n talks of his current mindstate.
tl:dr not too different from the usual m.o.
