Surprised people mad over Auntie Diaries.

To me what he's doing is like when a film or TV show shows an act of racism/homophobia. Also see a lot of people saying "but if a white person made a song where.. etc." but Bob Dylan pretty much did that with Hurricane and it's seen as one of the great civil rights songs

Comparing LGBT s*** to Black struggle is distasteful af

Well it doesn’t really matter I guess but that complaint is dumb.

Eh it could be a lot worse. Pretty tame reaction for using that word.

Gotta salute those ppl that admit they are really loving after the music that initially hated it. Shows a lot about then to admit that.

Easier to just accept you’re not gonna know how you feel about an album like this for at least 24 hours and hold judgment till then lol

It’s already growing on me. Really feels like a continuation of DAMN in a good way. Where DAMN was him dealing with anxieties about the person he wanted to present to us through his artistry vs the flaws he privately grapples onto, this album is him finally deciding to ditch being the perfect star and be himself. Pretty awesome evolution in his discography

are you kidding me? do you know how difficult it is to not identify with either gender and have to convince people to use they/them?

  • May 14, 2022

you think he's just having a fun time on a song like N95 and then listen to it a lot and he is saying some S***

That’s a good observation. I agree with that assessment.

every photo on her page though?

I follow one chick that shows how much her photos get touched up to show normal everyday people to love their bodies and stop focusing on these IG models

She’ll have dimples on her ass but in her model pics it looks smooth af lol

I like that fat s*** tho

Wouldn’t be surprised if all her photos are touched up tho

Comparing LGBT s*** to Black struggle is distasteful af

I feel like it surely depends on the specifics as they're such wide ranging issues. Maybe he shouldn't be directly comparing the two words at the end, but it is a powerful way of trying to make his point on the word because people are almost universally familiar with the n-word debate.

Also I feel like LGBT struggle sometimes gets seen as light from how it's shown by a lot of public figures but you can't forget all the imprisonment and death that has been faced by that community because of their sexuality. For some gay people it's been a lot more than just being excluded by their family etc.

How was it wrong? My point still stands; the way he executed that idea and that line specifically can come across like he’s trying to defend R. Kelly’s crimes as an adult. Is that what he’s doing? No. But I wouldn’t blame someone who heard that line and came to that conclusion, because that how it comes across. All I’m saying is that idea could’ve been executed in a better way

I missed this convo but I actually wanna discuss it, please don’t take this as me trying to attack you cuz I’m not.

But I don’t see how it can be interpreted as a defense of R Kelly. Watching the documentaries and reading his story I do think life did fail him. He was molested and surrounded by enablers and all types of s***. He even has family members that seemed like they don’t have problems with his actions.

Does it excuse his gross actions and sick and abusive behavior. No, but I think what Kendrick is asking is what could’ve happened if his environment would’ve been different. Would he still be the same man?

It’s like when Boondocks did the celebrity worship episode about R Kelly and he listed everything wrong about R. Kelly and had the line “if you care about R Kelly, get him some help”

That line was missed by a lot of people. Not saying YOU don’t understand personally, but I feel like the cycles of abuse aren’t ever discussed in larger online discourse

So on United in Grief we learn the two ways Kendrick dealt with Grief.

    S***and spending money.

He talks about all the things he purchased for no reason at all but also talk about the woman he met that he used to s***the pain away.

This is right after Whitney telling him to tell us the truth

When she said tell them you’re (your) __

What do you think came after that?
