This one hit for me immediately but a lot of Kendrick's music has taken a few listens to really click with me. It's a lot to process

My first listen was at work while crunching Excel statsheets so yeah I think that this might've played a role in how I received it.
Listening to it now clear-minded and it's almost like it's a whole new album

FreightItās a legitimate complaint. If he was more online he might know how played out giving takes on cancel culture, freedom of speech, Battle of the Sexes, etc is. Itās like all these topics have been filtered down to him from the internet though friends and close acquaintances but heās not online enough to know that his takes arenāt particularly nuanced or unique.
So yeah, the album already suffers from too many āonlineā topics but it seems pretty painfully clear Kendrick lacks knowledge of the actual conversations surrounding the topics.
Interesting take. I would still rather hear Kendrickās uninfluenced perspective than the takes you can gather online. I donāt get the sense that Kendrickās uneducated on the matters he speaks, even if it what you say where his takes may be considered played out online, at least itās genuine

Underrated that we dont talk bout enough with Drake is his ear for production and surrounding himself w the right producers
