QrOvAny idea what happened aside from covid and s***?
COVID and the 2020 protests and that Noname s*** was for sure a catalyst for this album. This album feels like a well thought out nuanced response to the messiah s***. Hes not some savior. Hes not on some pedestal above Cole or Drake. Hes just another artist like them.
I also think being a father had him opening up some painful stuff in "the basement" if you catch my drift. Going to therapy to be a better father to his kids and break what he viewed as "generational curses" aka trauma passed down.

Any subject matter or sound can translate. If the artist canāt humanise it enough to make it universal they are failing IMO

It is not wrong to say any word within context. If someone takes offence to something that isnāt said with offence it is the listeners problem.
Which is why he was wrong for what he did on the stage when the fan was singing along with him. He had nothing but PC points to score there and he is doing the same thing here. Except instead of apologizing for what he did he is saying you canāt say the f-word either.
No you can say whatever you like. A true artist doesnāt have such simplistic thinking. This whole song a PR stunt.

He did nothing wrong. It isnāt hard for that girl to just not say that word and he had every right to be upset about it
Also if he simply just said that he stands with the trans or gay community, it wouldnt have the same effect or create conversations if he publicly admits his mistakes and what he used to say and that he knows itās wrong now.
