he literally backpedaled on that post too
This dude is literally the worst f that whole ādumbass reactionary who writes posts with flowery vocabulary to seem smartā party of Twitter. No original beliefs or ideas and just regurgitates contrarian rw bs to make inflammatory points. Dude is ridiculously annoying
Oh i agree he doesn't think abt it that deeply at all
But these ideas are ingrained in people regardless of whether they think about it or not, and i think it's interesting how it manifested in Kendricks character arc, as somebody who's so much in the public eye it's just amplified to another level
@krishna_bound and im talking abt individualism, great man theory and idealism here
The shortcomings, colonialism patriarchy at all is his own reflection that inadvertantly comes tl that conclusion i agree
No less. Black listeners here (UK) are usually 1/2nd generation Africans or Jamaicans. Afrobeats is the flavour everyone listens to.
Very few actually sit with his albums. They get hyped because you know itās kendrick, but when you ask them what they know they just say Humble, money trees, swimming pools etc. But if you talk with white people, they can tell you their favourite songs stretching to Kendrick Lamar EP
well there's nothing that i disagree with here
listening to We Cry Together for the 2nd time now
amazing song
Wait thatās her speaking? Is this confirmed?
i think so tbh. she posted on her ig a caption from the photoshoot of the album, leads me to believe this was probably very hands on (considering she's the main subject matter of this album)
He really made this for her.

Oh yeah, from that perspective I guess I agree. I said it earlier in the thread but it reminds me of the trajectory of a lot of artists who get fed up with their own fame and acclaim and become hugely cynical and devolve into making personal therapy albums rather than caring about the music or messaging. Mark Kozelek was my comparative example
