but he also has more albums (and to be fair, lasers and drogas light were completely controlled by a terrible label, while Kendrick had Dr. Dre's support instead).
if you just compare their great albums, it's pretty close
F&L/GKMC, Cool/UU?, T&Y/TPAB, Wave/MM&TBS ...
DROGAS Light was controlled by a label? I thought Lupe put that out at his own free will.
its a tough one tbh i havent fully thought it thru yet
lupe has a broader scope on the world and life. i think about songs like American Terrorist or Gold Watch. I like how detailed he is and it never comes off preachy or hyper lyrical.
Kendrick has a much more centered focus and sound about his unique disposition.they’re both great
I got incredibly high when this dropped last night and listened to it with my girlfriend, straight up had a bad time it was freaking me out a little especially when we got to We Cry Together I had to turn it off
Kendrick taking abt generational trauma very important
I know it may sound like sjw jibberjabber to some
But i can speak on how my own parents went thru horrible govt repression and how it traumatized them, it affected me too
If i raise a family, i now got my own shyt to deal with and might not be a perfect father or husband despite my best efforts, and it could be traced back to that trauma
A lot of jews who went thru the holocaust talk about the same thing, it's a real thing, i wish people took it more seriously
i feel like ppl often forget that parents dont get a training on how to be a parent, they just become one and then have to try their best lol
like our parents as immigrants they moved away from a certain culture and the kids grow up so differently here, they gotta do things as parents they never learned from their parents bc their parents never did it, s***s crazy lol
My dude was using some awful reasoning too
Influence (which Kendrick has) is not measurable.
Quotables (which he has) is subjective
5 absolutely incredible albums
Steals the show on features (the narrative his features aren’t good is just hating)
Literally has the top rated anything on metacritic right now.

he grabbed a bunch of old throwaway tracks and put it out as an album just so he could fulfill his label's deal and go independent

and that says everything that you need to know about the credibility of said rating. Still hasn't been 24 hours since it dropped

Yup. We all just fumbling our way thru s***

Ok Zach from the 6
Mr. Morale feels like Yeezus × Blade Runner 2049 × Black Panther
Thought I was the only one getting blade runner 2049 vibes from that song, definitely more upbeat and uptempo though.

Same, and I was sober!

Fitting name man you aren’t built for this. its okay though. We can’t all take as big of steps as Kendrick did on this album. Stay tip toeing man.

Hmmmmmm
Wouldn’t it just defeat the purpose of the argument if we had to modify Lupes discography to even have the discussion?
