he focused on social issues for 4 albums straight then finally made an album for/about himself. It’s justified and even warranted imo

I actually like that he talked more about himself, i just don't like that he rejects being concerned with social issues on here, that's all

I’m Peeping how niggas will categorize high black art as critic bait but then act like these microwave anthems are for the culture healing from black trauma and transcending the male ego? Critic bait! I’m off my 4th bean and I ain’t died yet? Oh that’s Culture!

Lmaooo gotta love people who aren't even affected by any of this telling us what we should be grateful for or not

Y’all should be grateful a major black artists rapped about your community in a positive light

The crazy part was trans people weren’t even the audience to the song, it was to challenge the black community

Anyone who hated GOD is going to want to murk themselves during the midsection of the album

  • May 13, 2022

Album starts with that cut off "Tell them about-" stuff from TPAB that he trailed off with whispers. I guess this is him telling us about it

    This transcends Hip-Hop.

    It's genreless music.

    Pure art.

I mean is it not for himself specifically? Kendrick HAS been painted as a sort of social savior over the past few years and him coming back to say ā€œI can’t save you, you need to save yourselfā€ is a bit of a (needed) slap in the face to those people. Definitely not the direction most thought he was taking with this IMO

He’s painted himself like that since TPAB

Subtle before, but is out front this time

    More confident

Extremely sad that this is what becoming very rich did to him. Spiteful for no reason. Worse, spite turned against people who are just there to listen to him. Ā« I am doing me, not what you want! Ā» when what you do is just saying that isn’t doing anything. Ā« I am not your savior! Ā» Nobody said you were. Chill, Kendrick.

these words coming from a dude with the frank ocean bandana thing on his avi are insane

Nobody said you were. Chill, Kendrick.

    This is so untrue lmfao
In June 2020 everybody was saying ā€œwhere is Kendrick why is Kendrick not saying anythingā€
People absolutely view him as some kind of savior

Shiet i didnt know i did until i realized yesterday that we aint heard not a damn thing about kendricks real thoughts and trauma’s hes dealing with it in detail up until now
