I'm saying if lgbtq+ people have an issue with a derogatory slur that's historically been used towards them (as the few trans users ITT were conveying last night), it's not on us to tell them "yall it's not that big of a deal" is what I'm saying.

Yeah I think people are free to have their own views on the song but it goes too far when non LGBT are trying to tell LGBT they’re wrong in their feelings

Yeah but the fact is he still used it. If a white person used that word in his song ppl would lose it

    Ok

Only person I've talked to about this album with in person was one of my students, they know I'm a stan. They're hyped about it. I was surprised by how excited they were about it.

One of my best friends heard it and loved it, a lot more than I did. We haven't really gone in depth over it but he's running it back and texting me.

Internet response super divisive and reactionary but that's how it goes.

That’s exactly what I was trying to say about the song being contradictory lol. He don’t follow his own logic with the song.

how I see it is either he made the same song but censored and gets complaints or makes the song as is and gets complaints.

The entire point and perspective of the song kinda relies on its use even though it’s a bad word to use obviously but it’s just laced in the truth of people OUTSIDE of the lgbtq+ community being ignorant, especially back then.

Even today there are people that say that s*** proudly and with malice, but that’s not what the song is trying to promote it’s trying to get people out of that hurtful mindset by example

Context and intent matters more when it comes to things like this but I understand why people are upset, doesn’t make the song less impactful

Gotta commend the way he blended the more upbeat banger material on here with the more abstract off putting songs. That is not an easy thing to do.

Agreed. But black people been thru some s*** now lol

Oppression Olympics is a losing game anyway

I'm not trying to play oppression olympics.

I'm just saying lgbtq+ people have a reason to feel a way.

Somebody in this thread saying a lot of lyrics in that song reminded them of what their family member tells them that their family says behind their back.

Like...c'mon, I'm not gonna invalidate that.

I think there’s a difference between a movie and Kendrick writing an autobiographical song though

That movie stars two transgender women. You don't think they've ever been called the slur they're called during that scene?

I'm just saying if he was willing to reconcile with Nas as much as he was going at him? I don't think it's a stretch to say he would've eventually grew to realize "yo that s*** I said about Dre was f***ed up."

damn near everybody from the biggest gangsta rappers to the most backpack rappers were homophobic as hell back then, and lowkey a lot of these niggas aint even grow out of it, they just sidestepped it cuz the newer generation don't know about their pasts.

So I can't sit here and say WHAT Pac would've done, I can only go off what I know he said. And even outside of songs he was clowning Dre for being allegedly bisexual.

I LIKE to think he would've changed, but I can't speak on what would've happened man lol

Overnominalization will be the disestablishment of our society's pseudogrammatical normalization of correct speech, intertransculturalism between semicultural patriarchocapitalist structures, and pre-prefixial decommercialization. It normalizes over-prefixation and nominalization of said pseudogrammatical establishments, tearing down the nomenclatural foundation of our postneural ideologies with its overcomplications of traditionalized semifacial communications.

    lupe isnt political enough?

KTT1 TORE F&L2 APART BECAUSE IT WAS JUST POLITICS MAN WHAT

I appreciate what he did there but it was just a basic goverment diss . I would expect way more from him but he was way too worried about this craft than the message.

I dont want a rapper who raps about politics time to time
I want some true revolutionist socialist to rap rap.

Idk doe yall see politics very differently over there in US. People just dont care over there
