Objectively speaking, no one has touched Ye's discography and especially CD to Yeezus
He ruined his discography after that tho. His classic ratio was 100% now itās closer to 50%
Bro I love Ye. With that said Kendrick the best.
Glad you agree that you have recency bias when it comes to an oat debate
I canāt believe some people are defending his use of that word multiple times
He easily couldāve made that song and gotten his point across without using the word at all
Thatās the biggest Achilles heel of the record for me. I still love the song for the message but the execution verges into ācontroversy over communicationā with that and the deadnaming. It really does still feel like a flawed masterpiece, but absolutely flawed at the end of the day
I think this is his best rap performance for sure. Canāt believe this man stepped up his pen again. Flowing all over this b**** too
It was one of the WORST performances i've seen in MY LFIE!!!
Really?! If you have a pic Iād love to see. All signed?
All signed will try get a pic when Iām home have most of em framed
I agree, this is Kendrick making a Danny Brown/Earl Swearshirt album
I see the Danny influence definitely
I mean besides from a couple of pop records like loyalty, love or humble
I cant see anybody else giving us xxx, duckworth, lust
Or especially feel, that's my favorite kendrick song ever
Duckworth is a narrative structure with a twistish ending or whatever. That's Rashomon. That's Shyamalan. That's some Bob Dylan. I mean Dance With The Devil is a lot more popular than the other Immortal Technique songs for a reason.
Auntie Diaries on DAMN would've sounded like Same Love. Instead it sounds like Kim or Guilty Conscience or something. I don't think that's unfair to say either. I like Same Love for the record.
I like DAMN a lot, I'm just saying it's a lot smoother around the edges. This album is crude and disjointed. That speaks to the disconnect between the two you are talking about.
UU still his darkest record by far imo. There's some real end of the world stuff on there
like it's a bop
but he really followed up kodak pouring his soul out
AYYEEE b**** i'm attractive
i'm conflicted
Chances of this happening were soooo high and it still flew over his head I guess
i really do not like that this is becoming a growing stereotype of online transgender people
of appearing to be reactionary to anything seemingly offensive
i understand they spend most of their existences fighting for themselves so being defensive makes sense but it's literally a song supporting trans people
i dont know if it's mostly allies or whatever wanting smoke where there is none but it's overall pretty braindead
Listened at least 5 times now
For me
1. GKMC
2. Mr Morale
3. TPAB
4. Section 80
5. DAMN
All classics still
I canāt believe some people are defending his use of that word multiple times
He easily couldāve made that song and gotten his point across without using the word at all
He even explained the perspective of the time
Letās not act like America didnāt care about gay and trans people prior to 2017
Itās like a book, he used the word multiple times to take us during his mindset during the time
Then used the correct pronouns and said āf bombā instead of the actual word at the end
Yāall gotta listen to the music, words are words
Really see this as Damn part 2 so far
i actually completely degree, feel like it's the anti-DAMN
But in that sense it still is DAMN. part 2 (defined as its opposite)
Hm... thinking abt it
Yāall should definitely see this s*** live. Because Kendrick is an amazing live performer and this album live would be f***ing crazy.
TPAB was insanely divisive when it dropped
TY Big Stepper Brodie for keeping it a buck with TPAB lol
Thatās the biggest Achilles heel of the record for me. I still love the song for the message but the execution verges into ācontroversy over communicationā with that and the deadnaming. It really does still feel like a flawed masterpiece, but absolutely flawed at the end of the day
Yeah itās clear he only said it that many times to get a reaction out of people, but no one will admit it because itās Kendrick
It really be blowing my mind when niggas talk about some scare the hoes, no song ever stopped me from getting laid man lmaooooooooooo
IF ANYTHING, Iāve only gotten more p**** because of it. When niggas talk about scaring the hoes, they really just talking about IG thots whom through some form of narcissism, theyāve actually convinced themselves they have a remote chance with it if they just play NBA Youngboy out of their 2014 Kia Hatchback
just on first listen atm but the mixing and mastering isn't very impressive. I think it could've been a lot better considering that the productions pretty spacious and could've benefited from less of a clustered, compressed sound.
Hasn't stopped me from enjoying the album but it is my first listen so, i'll see if that stays the case
Ali and Terrace didnāt make the album wtf is happening
If Kanye had made Auntie Diaries and said the f slur multiple times, no one would be online defending his use of the word.
I agree but y'all act like Ye hasn't done multiple inflammatory things to get to this point where folks hate him as a concept lol cuz folks used to defend Ye for a lot of s*** pre Kardashian / MAGA era
