Damn is when he got rid of his savior complex and started to come to terms with not being able to change the world with his music and message
On this album he almost feels resentful towards the people that they didn't receive his message the way he wanted them to
Idk how you got resentment from this. This is the most relatable, sweetest album he's ever dropped. Not the way DAMN was sweet. DAMN was easy listening compared to this. This is "I'm not your savior, you are your savior" stuff. Putting the mirror on all of his own flaws and guilt and shortcomings. It's an album on the human condition. He's not talking about persecuted like Kanye. It's a lot more like 4:44 where he's coming after himself. Heart Part 5 lays all that out when he's talking about perspective and changing yourself from the inside.
I think where me and you would disagree with this approach is the lack of materialism, lack of politic, etc. It's all idealism, but that's why it's so relatable. This album has me reflecting on domestic dispute calls and divorce and family being strung out and my LGBT relatives. DAMN just felt like puppy love. This is a therapy session
Yeah I was shocked to see it get so much hate (only on here)
guess a lot of users just can’t relate, but it was a far more realistic execution than other artists who’ve tried similar concepts
Well Niggas on this site listen to music like they’re shopping on Grailed so that’s to be expected

Lmaooooooooo
Like i said last night
Noname had a big impact on Kendrick
He’s not our savior
Hes more Kodak then pro-black
I actually liked his verse on mirror where he went at noname tbh lol
But his demeanor was like that throughout the album and kinda directed at everybody in SOCIETY
this album feels like a natural follow-up to TPAB than DAMN
Its almost if not heavier then TPAB and thats saying something.
Very interesting reactions i've seen. No ones really called it mid aside from trolls. Its either people who really love it and think its amazing or people that hated it off first listen. Which is a good sign.
Not one weak album in his discog. Impressive

the epitome of posting just to post, wtf does this even mean

He got one of the greatest discographies in hip-hop easily at this point.
Honestly this album gonna ruin Kendrick’s perfect score with critics
but that’s not a bad thing at all & that’s seemingly what he wants
This not topping any of his previous albums on first listen
be careful kdot stans gonna say you only like microwave music even though you liked his previous works …
Kendrick wild af for putting stereo panning on "Demetrius is Mary Ann now"
Burst out laughing when I heard that line travel from left to right in my headphones
