Donda was leagues better than this mess. Critics are shameless
Donda is a can'tevenremember/10
So weāre just going to let Boi1nda and Sounwave flawlessly steal the great young Monte Bookers entire sound with Silent Hill? Sheesh.
TELL EM.
S/o Kendrick for giving everyone what they want
Twitter gets to be outraged
His fans gets to eat
Drake fans get to pretend they have hoes
The man delivered
The perfect Kendrick album
Donda was a DJ Khaled album with a gospel theme

Donda was leagues better than this mess. Critics are shameless
They are two different albums my guy. Thereās no way you can compare them BUT the critics were f***ed up for their rating of it
Donda was leagues better than this mess. Critics are shameless
Yeah them cracker points are worthless
I think Worldwide Steppers might be my favorite off the album
I see it as Kendrick saying the system has created ppl to be programs more than humans.
"the media controls your consciousness "
Which is why he brings up how we are all killers
Programmed to kill, just in different ways, some ppl kill physically, the media kills creatives mentally and creatively cause of cancel culture
Corporations and 9-5's kill people's dreams
A mod has to give it to you
Lol give me the hook up
Unbelievable that we got both The Smileās album and a heavily Radiohead/Thom Yorke-influenced Kendrick album in one night man holy f***

is he being discussed aside from the line he's mentioned in? i actually thought the thread has been doing good avoiding that but i'm just skimming randomly
I donāt know how people can ignore how bad hip hop discussion has fallen off after being in a thread like this. This is literally the first time in god knows how long Iāve seen a nuance in the level and complexity of discussion in an album thread vs it being the usual suspects trolling for whatever NPC flavor of the week trap artist that dropped. I love seeing people break down albums, catching little things thrown in, actually discussing tracks, their meaning, etc. there is obviously nothing wrong with trap. I just have missed this right here so much with people having authentic takes and discussions going back and forth.
as an addendum to what sparda said: we operate in age where this particular genre is filled with a lot of more of the same, so when something that's different on its face comes along it can be seen as inaccessible if it doesn't immediately slap or sound catchy
i stray away from calling it microwave because that's a bit dismissive to those artists and their craft, but none of them in the "mainstream" are really doing this
We found one of the slow ones
Cause I didnāt understand a lyric? This why niggas hate Kendrick fans yall wanna sit on yall high horse acting like you caught everything. F***ing dweeb
Same kinda. Ghost feature was a little disappointing too.
That whole run from Rich Spirit to Silent Hill got some issues. Once Keem starts floating on that orchestration though I'm all the way back in
Damn I only really felt like Rich Spirit and Silent Hill were the ones in that run too
kendrick the only mysteriuous music you dont gotta be embarrassed for playing outside
