MangoOh it definitely has been and will be. People are heinous. I think that says more about them than Kendrick though.
Kendrick is trying to invite ignorant people like he was in and change them and the effectiveness of that is something I question. Not just with transphobia, like with black on black violence or any other issue he tackles. He's appealing to those people and showing them in stark detail how he escaped it. I think the missing piece is always going to be money though. He rarely examines that part of it.
Or like realizing maybe music cannot embed the humanity of transgender people on cis people the way that just knowing them irl does (like him with his uncle/cousin). So maybe just celebrating them instead of using it as a moment to teach. But hey, pickings are pretty slim on this topic.

Jim NapsterCritics like the concept of Kendrick more than Kendrick himself, just like critics hate the concept of ye more than ye himself.
It is doing him a disservice when it's so obvious. No matter how great and how much you like this album it is not a perfect album, it is not meant to be
Yea I can get behind this, the reviews for Donda were egregious lmao and focused more on Ye as a concept than the work.

thats where the shock comes from
Itās exactly this. The album itself, as a piece of art, is extremely good. Much of it is just not enjoyable though. But again, Kendrick wasnāt trying to make us feel good. Doesnāt mean I need to pretend that I like listening to some of this like some are very obviously doing.
