I think the point he's making is that either all slurs are okay or no slurs are okay. he's pointing out the hypocrisy of casually using one slur but drawing the line at another.

Drogonhow are they similar? bob went from a woody guthrie cosplayer to a full-fledged folk hero to an innovative rock star then he made some country projects and family man type music.
Kendrick has dropped a concept album, a critic bait album which pitchfork types fap over, and a contemporary rap album in DAMN (which is still underrated).
I don't see the comparisons tbh
this took me a minute, and yeah whoever rips this off for their stupid YouTube essay or Genius article: youre welcome
both Dylan and Kendrick came out as 'students of the game' for their respective genre, showed talent on their earlier projects, got really popular really quick with monumental albums and sprawling concepts, got on the road and dropped their biggest albums ever that clearly split their career to 'before/during acclaim and after': Blonde on Blonde and DAMN
at the same time they'd become faces of their respective political movements with rather unconventional songs topping charts and becoming anthems (like a rolling stone, swimming pools, alright). as they grow bigger still being in mid 20s they become more and more disillusioned with what they had known going into this and especially when faced against the public and their own fans. both figures become larger than life and every single movement or slight change in their artistic direction drives a lot of criticism (damn and tpab were 'not the same as gkmc' for Kendrick, and Newport festival plus many other concerts for Dylan). also JFK assassination and Trump becoming the president played a certain part in that disillusionment as far as big-picture and real-life politics stuff goes. where would they find solace amid all this? in their significant others and first-borns
Nashville Skyline comes out two years after Dylan's previous album and three years after Blonde on Blonde. for Dylan its less direct and more grounded in reality: people were really bugging him and his family coming to his residence and pestering him about all types of s*** (google A. J. Weberman, some of the stuff hes been doing is nuts). as a result, he moved to Nashville to embrace his traditional musical upbringing, went on to do songs with Johnny Cash and sing about country pies, driving the point of him not doing the topical songs anymore. hes been doing that on John Wesley too but it was still a lot of topical s*** (I pity the poor immigrant, dear landlord, etc.)
Mr Morale comes out five years after Kendrick's biggest album yet. realizing he cant save the world and totally losing himself in this uphill battle (which DAMN was all about) he starts retracing his steps and focusing on healing himself and making the best out of the new generation. (the following is wip but I see this trajectory for him for the next few years and counting) he disowns his 'radical' fanbase, thoroughly explaining why he cant save them and why they should search for answers within, potentially to focus more on family and either not releasing much music or doing music in a more freewheeling (lmao) manner 'just doing raps' (see disk 1 of mr morale and keems discography. kendrick definitely used a figure with less eyes attracted to them to express his own artistry while helping a new artist find their footing in the industry)
so yeah this is where I find similarities between them. this is a long one and I skimmed through a lot but its safe to say you can find at least something in common between the two
