Does kendrick seem confused as to what he wants to say on this album or that just me?

Enjoyed my first listen overall but really dont know how to feel about it atm, its a rly strange project

Really good album, love the variety in production and vocals, impactful songs that come from a genuine place. Glad he chose to go a different route on here, it pays off. Good split of hard songs and introspective tracks. There's a bit of everything.

Gonna give it some time to sink in but I enjoy it a lot, you?

If you think the song is only about the slur itself then yeah youre paying attention to just one part lol, that literally is one part, and he isnt saying it as an act of rebellion, hate or just cause.

He literally misgenders only in the beginning when talking from the perspective of his ignorance, then corrects it when talking about growth.

You want him to sugarcoat or lie about the past? You want him to pretend he was always prefect or ignore it as if that era never happened? It was that harsh just ten+ years ago & it was so normal lol.

I think thats lame lol. Ignoring history as if it never happened, or pretending you never had any faults & arent willing to admit it.

Pretending a problem or an era never existed doesnt fix anything. Same thing with racisim. That some people also want to sweep under the rug n pretend it never happened n cover it up as "moving on".

Ugly is ugly & realizing why its ugly & how you got there & how to get over it is important.

But i respect if you dont like the song itself.
