I find it very strange that people want kendrick to be full on anarchy edgelord, or holier than thou judge.

S*** is weird af when the album is clearly about admiting faults, reflecting on them, trying to get over them & explaining how he got to this point.

People really do want s*** to be black n white, or will only take in the things that in their mind makes it black n white.

Bigots & defenders alike are going to take it out of context forever.

Id say he executed it better than Em did bc Ems version was way too edgy for me but idk why you try to convince yourself that it isnt influenced by Em even though its been stated on record that Kendrick is a huge fan of his

I never said anything about influence. and Yea everyone knows kendrick said that

And yet, this fuels more confusion: even Genius says "a song about Kendrick's trans aunt". The song works perfectly if it's about a gay relative (because I don't believe this is a real story, so he could have crafted it differently).

Sorry if someone's already said this but it's about his gay aunt and trans cousin I think

If his aunt is trans and now his uncle then he really confused the messaging because it sounded like he was using metaphors to talk about a gay woman the entire time and how she was accepted as 'one of the guys'
