But as I said
It's something only cis people would appreciate and would maybe finally understand more about trans issues.But to us?
It's harmful.It's exactly the same stuff that my younger sibling tells me what my parents have been saying behind my back living on my own.
It hits personal for us. But we can't appreciate it because it may be growth for him. But it's just yet again trauma for us

As you said, if songs like this do help cis people like us actually try to understand more about trans issues (cause historically, niggas only start flipping towards a marginalized community's efforts once some of their own put them on game first) then it's a win.
But yeah, these are all valid criticisms you're naming and I do wish it was some nuance. Kendrick can only go off the point of view that he grew up on. The same way all of us can go off our own perspectives.
The misgendering was nagging on me too all things considered. But I took the flip-flopping as him literally describing his mindset.
