It’s definitely his most interesting album & worth the 5 year wait tbh
On god, not dissapointed by any means
Auntie's Diaries is a trans-rights anthem for cis people.
I figured it out and that's why I can't enjoy it
It not an Anthem tho. It’s Kendrick talking about his own life experience.
only 2 songs in and it already my fav Kendrick
lirl
Anyone who was waiting for DAMN 2 is not going to like this.
They got their weak ass love/god type songs with die hard and purple heart tho
yeah this album was a perfect way to convey that he is not necessarily someone to be idolized or listened to as a “savior”. he’s clearly in therapy for a lot of s*** and got wayyyy more intimate than he’s ever been. you really get to see inside his mind. super vulnerable and absolutely not what i expected at all
God I f***ing love it
it does what’s your point
If the Gambino is mainstream because it has Ariana and 21 on it, by that logic this album is mainstream because of Summer and Kodak
it’s safe to say that Kendrick has broken out the simulation judging how this dude actually thinks these days
Some of these lyrics are just wild
he said s*** u would find on facebook he didn't really break the simulation
I think if I remember correctly I was jokin on him criticizing cancel culture (and not just him criticizing literally everybody like what happened)
somebody said Noname probably had a great effect on Kendrick and tbh that's not a wild take.
Wouldnt surprise me if she sparked inspiration. Feels like it tbh.
all of his albums have been insanely cohesive and thematically consistent. this one was all over the place production/lyrics/vibe wise and it seems very very purposeful. this is the most vulnerable and open ive heard an artist in a long ass time. need to listen maaaany more times to digest it, but don’t know if i have the mental to listen through again before bed
U UGLY AS F***
Good
Its mostly people forcing that s*** onto him anyways
This is him throwing that f***ing diamond crown of thorns from the cover off his head across 18 songs
