Finally finished and i really liked it. It’s polarizing enough without being too pretentious. It’s so far, the only album this year to make me think or have a genuine emotional reaction. The album is dense enough for another or multiple listens but it’s not gonna be an album people listen to a lot or have fun listening too and that’s not there point of it.
It’s a good direction and the production was great, one or 2 songs feel like they could have been left out.
Overall it felt open, honest and raw with a few stumbles both sonically and in how he conveys his message but it’s such a crazy step away from his other projects and anything else put out in a while. Can’t rate it or anything until i listen more and give it time to bake but I’m a big fan of this album so far.

i have the feeling that critics will turn their back on kendrick witht this one

i think the tapdancing signifies how society plays with these social injustices and s***crimes as well an equality between sexes but social media and news outlets use it for a story or for likes and clout rather than actually doing anything about it. Virtue signaling and cancel culture among other things have all made it very hard to have a unique opinion without getting your character assassinated if masses do not agree with it. we just kind of tap dance around subjects but never really fully discuss them or attempt to actually fix the problems we address.

Sounds like Kendrick goes to therapy for it so that probably helps
