The Heart Part 5 felt like more of a mission statement than the others, there was a different air to this one I think
Oh absolutely. Where the proclamations made in Pt 4 fit the explicitness of the DAMN. narrative and aesthetic, the core of part 5 feels reconciliatory. Interested in seeing if im on the money with that, with the songs lyrics and now the album cover in mind.
Tbh tpab one of those albums that I put in the same realm as Purple Rain, Horses, Sgt peppers , whatās going on ?
MBDTF in there too but I never argue if someone prefers TPAB

One thing thatās gonna suck about the album dropping is no more fake controversial KDot bars itt
Thatās gotta be one of the best memes in a minute ngl

Just gonna have to switch to J Cole is pro cancer bars
I think I've settled into
TPAB > GKMC > DAMN
I still love DAMN, but the more I listen, the more I'm convinced it's the worst of his 3 major solo albums.

U about to get the real controversial bars from the man himself

mfw the lyrics on the album end up being more controversial than the meme lyrics

There are some great moments on DAMN. where Kendrick for the first time felt holographic, fully embracing the iconography and mystique weāve all ascribed to him since. Iām harsh on that album but in no way do I consider it a mistake or a faulty effort, I just think it was a career chess move and clearly it did what he needed it to do

Iām taking TPAB for me personally but sgt peppers is one of the greatest albums

Alchemist posted cover art on IG story, he also reposted album announcement when it happened as well
Please let that mean what I think it means
I was thinking about this after seeing the artwork and trying to link it with the title. Is it possible The Big Steppers are Kendrick's kids? I could see some kind of theme of Kendrick describing all of the accomplishments of black culture and how it's big shoes to fill. You gotta take big steps or something lol. Kind of seems like something Kendrick would come up with.

Tbh not a bad take and can see Kendrick doing that. Especially with the I am all of us. His kids are an extension of him and could see him doing a song in the perspective of them and how they view him as a man
Something about Kendrick coming to the GOAT producer just makes me feel warm in my heart man like he knows what time it is
