his voice is perfect on this joint, perfect frequencies, perfect tone to compliment the 255hz coming from the production.

kendrick did an amazing job writing jay's verse
Crazy how thanks to Jay Rock TDE started to be known, and know Kendrick has made all of Jay Rock best verses

biggest d***sucker on ktt2
Ktt the only place where we made up the term critic bait music lmao
People started it with TPAB because it didnāt hit GKMC levels of commercial success, and then they started to do it to DAMN., because they figured itād follow suit and then it ended up being one of the best selling albums of that year, so now theyāre just kind of stuck.
And it just pisses em off even more.

I'm a former professional music reviewer...I've never met a critic being a kendrick fan. it's just that kendrick makes critic proof music. there's nothing to criticize on this joint, absolutely nothing from an objective angle.
I've never seen a professional critic obsess over other critics as much as you do. If the music is objectively good and you're a former music reviewer, surely you can express that yourself rather than referring to Pitchfork and s***

The greatest rapper alive

āPart 5ā is the second āHeartā entry to be paired with a video, and this time, the intrinsic link between song and visual is a double-edged sword. Lamarās careful cross-references between societal issues and celebrity controversy feel less pressing when you canāt see the faces change in real time, deflating the songās momentum and placing it near the back end of the āHeartā series. Thatās the risk of tying the two elements too close together, but it also speaks to Lamarās ever-expanding ambitions, and it goes without saying that heās still one of the best rappers alive. Perspective constantly changes the playing field of life and Lamar is preparing us for what feels like his biggest shift yet.
how is rap and spoken word mutually exclusive??
is he braindead??
i hate this reductionist, lumpy M&M headass dust ball
i dont care if hes a carti stan

Lol with tochi I'm here for the laughs and any brush-ups with truth that I happen to agree with.
He's very anti-artsy rappers and consistent in his criticism for it. I don't agree with it at all and don't like that he implies that people who listen to Kendrick don't listen to hip hop, but I do get where he's coming from based on the things that he does like
serious question, how is Kendrickās rapping on here better than Drakeās on Churchill Downs? Like I know itās two completely different subject matters but I seen people on twitter saying these Kendrick verses alone clear any Drake rap verses dropped in the past 5 years

they're of a similar caliber. Kendrick's subject matter is a bit more "highlevel" some would argue I think, and because so it takes more "skill" to rap semi politically and make it work, which kendrick did.
