War & Peace (1966)
Shot on 70mm, Soviet produced film stock, this is one of the most stunning and visually dazzling epics ever made. Every scene felt like a Renaissance painting & Sergey Bondarchuk was on another level whilst directing this.
There's an endless range of topics to discuss from the team introducing brand new cinematography techniques in Soviet cinema to the political pride behind the making of this masterpiece. An incredibly fascinating project from start to finish.

I saw the Apocalypse Now final cut in 4K, that s*** was stunning
Nostalgia really the most beautiful yet scary feeling

You mean in OUATIA?
Cus I agree. I read some crazy s*** from Leone last week tho. Apparently the whole part of the film where Noodles is a senior is/can be interpreted as an opium dream. We never get to see past his 30’s. I’m gonna watch the film again with that in mind later this month, even though I’ve seen it like 4 times already. Cus that quote complete blew my mind. I also wanted to research opium dreams, but I can’t find s*** cus Yung Lean and Bladee made a song called opium dreams and now whole of google is filled with that song.

the battle scene
The Godfather 2. i rewatched for the 2nd or 3rd time and i just realized how the real theme of it all is family/family dynamics. Its not explicitly stated but you can tell Michael feels like he's never fit in with his family and didnt wanna be a part of their organization at first. thats why he goes to join the marines in the beginning (tells his brothers how honourable it is to fight for their country); barely spends time w his kids, hes quick to cut off his wife, his bro fredo (ends up killing him too), and connie until she begged to be in his life again. S*** was really sad to see honestly he was terrible w relationships and always needed revenge- very ruthless and the complete opposite of his father. then you got Pentangeli who was about to snitch on Michael until his brother showed up and i guess he was reminded that you don't turn on family. Man actually ended up killing himself for almost doing it too. Anyways just some thoughts but what a great movie
the battle scene
that french cavalry charge haha and that lullaby at the end of the battle was cool

fay grim so f***in dope
@RASIE
that ending is just godly and i’ve watched the last 10 minutes with credits so many times. i even had to make a youtube clip of it so i can watch it when im not on my computer
amazing soundtrack (hartley climbed to my most played recently on my ktt profile)

6.5/10... maybe 7/10
Great acting by Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. Didn't like this film as much as other David Fincher films.. but to be fair he makes a lot of good movies. The graffiti house scene with 'White Rabbit' playing in the background was definitely my favorite part of the film. The crazy taxi ride scene comes close though. The plot is interesting but by the end of the film it makes you wonder how CRS could pull this off. I can definitely see why people don't like the ending...

5/10 boring
At least you finished it
Dropped this bullshit like 20 mins in

Yeah, it's just not entertaining at all. Hope something better will drop this year.
Judas movie was pretty good.

I meant just in general but it's perfectly shown in the movie.
I saw that idea but not sure how I feel about it, it's a lot to make up in your head. I interpret it like he chooses to believe his old reality, where Max didn't set him up but instead was killed in the robbery. The pain of your entire life and most valuable friendship being fake would be too much to take
4/10
Meh..
Bradley Cooper did a great job playing Chris Kyle in the film.. cool to see him take a serious acting role. The combat scenes were subpar imo... felt like The Hurt Locker did a better job..

Dead Bradley cooper in many serious roles
Kinda edgy on some stuff like mans smashing someone he’s related to who’s also the lawyer but overall a pretty good watch 3/5
Pieces of a Woman
Feel like that's becoming a thing they tryna push. And I don't know how to feel about it cause it can kinda be justified when its not immediate relatives
