I think the big criticism comes from 1) how slow the movie moves 2) viewing the sci-fi as the main story while in reality it's just a tool used to navigate through the story

If you're fine with these I think it's a great movie, it's leans more towards a Malick film than Interstellar

The pirate scene tho

Had a weird urge to rewatch this after remembering it from my childhood. It’s not bad. Story was decent but had a surprising amount of heart. the action is 🔥

It was ok. P straightforward in terms of Nolan movies but nothing really special here imo. Solid small town mystery thriller. Pacino and Williams both killed and they had a great dynamic.
