Nice little coming of age film

American coming of age genre really lacking, past decade all i kind think of was cmbyn, 20th century women, moonrise kingdom, Ladybird for the good ones

Tourneur's is indeed a classic. Schrader's was a disgrace to me

Blasphemy on so many levels.. Nastassia Kinski and John Heard alone make it at least a 3..

I see you on that rewatch

Kinski was great, and Moroder's score was excellent. But i seriously doubt i'll like it anymore on rewatch tbh, i barely made it through the first time cause large chunks of it were just so boring to me.

Im also not a big Schrader fan in general tho. Some of his films are really great, while the rest of what ive seen have been mediocre to awful

    Dark Phoenix

It was a let down but not as bad as people said. Sophie was good. Fassbender was great as always. The elements were there for it to be a good send off but it just didn’t have a tight enough script or storyboards. Felt off. And the supporting cast around McAvoy was weak as hell (I’m talking cyclops, storm, nightcrawler, mystique). Those cats all had the charisma of a log.

    6/10, mediocre but not awful.

Really dope film. Just watched this randomly because the description sounded interesting and was suprised I've never heard of it or the director. If you don't like rooting for the police tho don't watch.
