Few weeks ago, I tried getting into her music because she’ll be at a festival that Im supposed to go to. I almost fainted when Rock & Roll Nword came on
she was straight up wylin bro
Read an article or two about it since hearing the album. Here's an interesting excerpt
“I don’t play it normally,” she says when I bring it up, “out of respect for our times. Just like I don’t play Gloria in churches. I’m happy to be disrespectful, but I’m also happy to be respectful. On the other hand, when I was inducted into the rock’n’roll hall of fame I performed Rock N Roll because I promised my mother I would – it’s her favourite song, because it’s our most high-energy song – and right in front of me was Clive Davis, with Aretha Franklin and Al Sharpton. I don’t know whether they liked that or not, but that’s what I did.”

This album hits so f***in hard at midnight. I love it!
what did think about the flume joint?
I love it. Has one of the best Raekwon and Vince Staples verses I’ve ever heard on there. Love the other genres too. It’s a great great album and deserves more credit.
Great cover too
What were your thoughts on After Hours?
Surprisingly good, didn’t think it would deliver after how good the title track and Blinding Lights were but the album cuts are equally as good. The homage to 80s synth pop is dope and the cool elements of dnb, garage etc give it a cohesive feel whilst most tracks still stand out on their own.
Tracks 5-7 aren’t all that but everything else makes up for it, probably my favourite album of his excluding Trilogy... that’s his opus.
You?
Wanna listen to an album a day in lockdown, someone start me off
