Case Study 01 by Daniel Caesar
wish more people would give this album a shot. songwriting is nuts and the production is incredible. the hidden song on the last track is prolly one of his best songs lmao.
8.5/10

I liked the album a lot when it first came out. It sucks he barley had promo and it wasn’t to far when he made those racist comments on IG :/

yeah its ashame that all happened tbh. i think some of his best material is on that album too, but not many people will ever give that album a shot cause of all that

Every listen this album just clicks with me more
Such a pretty and innovative album and it sounds like a jam session but in a good way
9/10

This is a whip album for sure, a lot of slappers and some slower songs, I prefer the bangers but he has a good singing voice for a rapper
This album has nice continuity, I appreciate that since a lot of trap albums feel like compliations
He could work on variety more a lot of the production is just preset guitars and hi hats and he does sound a bit like Thug or Future but he has his own style going for him and you hear he got passion for this rap s***
7/10?
P.S. The Box is banger OTY
also @Soupvillain do you have apple music? i wanna follow

So I decided to listen to 2000s albums of famous songs because I realized I've never sat down to listen to these albums. My hope is I would find a good song I've never heard off. Anyway.
Let Go sounds exactly the way I expected it to sound like. Very generic, melodramatic early 2000s Pop Rock that is copying all of its themes, cues, melodies from late 90s Alt Rock. This sounds like Goo Goo Dolls meets Alanis Morissette. But I'm aware I'm looking at this from a 2019 context. I think 2000s teenage me would have thought this was great because the lyrics scream teenage angst and that was probably the target group for this back then.

Various Artists - Back From the Grave Vol. 1 - 9/10
amazing comp of underground garage rock

03 Greedo - First Night Out
8.5/10
Top 3:
Rude
If I (Part II)
Diamonds

I need weird, experimental James Blake back on the next album. The highlights on Assume Form were great but the album as a whole was too tame for my taste.
