What tracks did you enjoy? I always found the album sounded really flat due to RZA's piss poor production, you could also tell some of the members were just uninspired due to their differences with the albums direction

i liked most of em, dont see myself listening to it too much tho

pretty close to an 8 tbh

  • Jun 26, 2021

7.5/10, some of her best songs on here, absolutely genius songwriting and chord structure peppered throughout, but I can understand why this felt like the beginning of the end for people when it dropped

8.5/10, the greatest songwriter of our generation and the gift that keeps on giving

    7/10, cute and fun project.

i don't find very many things wrong with it/flaws tbh, just don't love most of the tracks enough to be up there with my favorite radiohead. i think overall its really solid, not a huge fan of Desert Island Disk and Tinker Tailor.. but i don't think they drag down the album or anything. really well made album, but probably misses out from being a top 5 radiohead album

it might keep growing on me more though, i didnt like it as much years ago and would have given like a 6. usually albums that i find very consistent without amazing highlights end up growing on me the most

OK Computer is their 9.5 masterpiece for me

fair enough. you're sleeping on tinker tailor though - such a great highlight to the album amidst a track list of much more appropriate highs. Kind of like what in limbo is to Kid A

real, Present Tense, Tinker, and Decks for me, though both the 1-3 and 9-11 runs are bone chilling

also, such a great loosie here, and good on them for not putting it on the album

nice, always wanted to love HTTT as much as its most favorable supporters do but it never scratched the same sort of itch as albums I like more. Go To Sleep and Scatterbrain are soooo underrated though, wish they performed both more frequently

Weird seeing The Bends that low, it’s my favorite. I get it tho, it’s their most mundane record by comparison to their later stuff. For me it’s just so warm and inviting despite its tender sadness. My ranking is all over the place tho.

    1. The Bends
    2. Amnesiac
    3. OK Computer

Weird seeing In Rainbows that low. I love the Bends but I think it gets ranked low because it was just like a great regular alt rock album. Then what they did later was like insanely a huge leap forward

I guess that’s what I like about it. It’s simplicity. Amnesiac is my second favorite because it’s the complete opposite. It’s all their strengths on the other end of the spectrum. The Bends just resonates more emotionally for me despite being less interesting compositionally or texturally. It’s like a simple warmth compared to Amnesiac’s complex coldness.
