nah this album is actually amazing lmfao my opinion changed DRASTICALLY when I played this in the car
lancey is one of the better artists that pull off the rage sound
I was gon say, that’s kind of his style at this point
Nah this is f***ing good
Usual complaints but if he gave it another revision, trimmed it to like 16/18 tracks it’d be way stronger
Some of the more generic rage beats could be cut and some of the more formless tracks like Try Again could be omitted
The highlights here are so strong though - Lies Will Set You Free, Ride Til You Die, World on Fire, She The One, Lancey or Laney - my favourites
Feels like a cohesive experience though despite the padding, like he’s fully-immersed you in a specific sound and theme on this which is cool … Even if the rage beats aren’t anything new he raps on them well and I love some of the 80s pop-y drums
He put did it again with that ass feature but shelved sticks in da bentley
It's on sight for this dude fr fr
Some of this production is wild. Almost like playboi carti production mixed with PC Music label / Arca or some s***
2:42 - 3:00 on Lies Will Set You Free is the apex of the album, it all just comes together sonically in those moments
THIS ALBUM IS SPECIAL
yh its nice g production like the melodic vibes n rage stuff ride til u die needs to be on a f-zero soundtrack
some of his best work tbh kaytranada did a mazza as well luv kills me slowly
^^^ Facts
When all the sounds & melodies come together it sounds amazing
An issue is though, I think sometimes he tries to cram too many ideas into one tune, like Lies Will Set You Free did not need that outro … Sometimes the over-abundance of sounds & beat switches makes it sound messy
Still, so refreshing to hear some properly interesting and multi-layered production for once, the album sounds super glitzy & cosmic
