All that controversy or whatever fizzled out and the films meta commentary doesn't stick without the momentum of the film itself. What was hailed as an achievement in self criticism for blockbusters proved to be just as disposable and honestly just as cynical.

An HBO Max series about Bugs and her crew finding Nemo and defeating the Architect would’ve been way better

I watch a lot of pretentious bullshit, but imma be real…

The depth of this movie seems endlessly vast to me. It sort of just hits me like a poem. Spinning off on all these threads. Dysphoria. Depression. Dissociation. Nostalgia as d***. Lana’s powerless feelings about how people have contorted her art. Socialization. Gender. Reboot culture. Programming. And that’s just the start.

I’m not connecting everything. But they’re all hitting me at different times, coming in and out of focus. Also, there’s the ugly, surreal frame rate this thing uses. It’s like a nightmare. What a bold choice for a mainstream film. I’m gonna be swimming in this for the rest of my life. I don’t think I’ll ever totally unlock it.
But that’s ok.
It makes me feel something.

Just wait til this gets the Speed Racer treatment and people really start realizing what a cult classic it is
