KAYTRANADAi feel like the og Matrix was best suited as this one off allegorical film. Trying to expand it beyond that just seems unnecessary
Nah tbh it hardly has an ending though, like rewatching it a few months back I realised how much is set up then never paid off at the conclusion.
They talk about Zion a bunch but never even get there.
Neo is 'the One,' but we're told that the prophecy of the One is meant to lead to peace between humans and machines, or freedom from the machines or however it's phrased. Literally nothing happens on that front at the end - we confirm that he is indeed the One, but we don't see any payoff to that beyond just him doing some crazy s*** in the Matrix.
Like, it's definitely intended to be the first part of something, it just stands alone a bit better than the sequels because I guess WB wasn't sure they'd get to do more until they saw the receipts.

Everything from the crazy creative choreography to the f***ing scenarios and music going perfectly with it. The Frenchie, his smoking hot wife, the smirking more dangerous than agent in someway twins, the iconic stylish shots like morpheus rolling over the car and then spraying the twins with uzis, Trinity and morpheus fighting the twin in the car while keymaker sits there awkwardly, agents popping up on the highway during all of that, the insane vehicular carnage throughout, the brawl between morpheus and the agent on top of the truck, s***s so f***ing good, one of my all time best theater experiences along with the first lord of the rings

Yes Reloaded is f***ing amazing and one of the best action films of all time as well. I remember how mind boggling the burly brawl was the first time I saw it. Regardless of the cgi, it's still dope asf and no movie to this day has still had anything like that to my knowledge.

The focus is definitely mental health, love in technological age more than action. I am not expecting hand to hand fights to be good because Lana not trying to recreate John Wick action gunfights because why would she. Series isnt just about violence but for those looking for best action of all time I would definitely lower expectations
