Do we know the people on the cover?
Her sister is the end of the table almost 100%
lana loves ending with a cover. i wonder if weyes blood and zella day are on the album then
i hope weyes blood is but i still consider zella day a dollar store version of lana . f*** her
“My bestfriends are rappers, my boysfriends have been rappers”
G eazy doesnt count
white b****es like her are weird asf

Her sisters are there, and if you look second to the left it seems Jason Vorhees’s mother was also there
you're right. the main draw of her music was always production. the critics never bought into it though.
This is why BTD is her best. Best vocals + best production
I always find Lana’s albums sound best in the summer but Let Me Love You Like a Woman sounded more winter-y to me and I’d like it if she went in that direction.
More I Talk to Jesus type songs pls Lana
hasn't been on that in about half a decade, try out her last couple albums
she still on the same schtick bro. its so played
i also think her getting a second home in the seal beach / long beach area has affected her music significantly. lana mentioned lbc at least 3 times on that album. we get it already lol @provider @Psychodrama at least her neighbors introduced her to sublime lol
hahaha yeah it's been a theme for a while tbh, that whole thing with her stalker and having to move def had an effect on that too
This is why BTD is her best. Best vocals + best production
that's her most influential album. for better or worse. even though ultraviolence is my personal fav, i'm not mad that at the end of the day born to die will be considered her classic.
I would agree usually for most artists but as a Lana fan who’s been listening since before Ultraviolence... that was her peak imo. Her best blend of good songwriting, beautiful unique production, and catchy well executed songs. And not full of filler/amateurish songs like Born to Die.
Lust for Life/Honeymoon regardless of what lana stans say are lifeless and extremely rote and nondescript albums outside of like Summer Bummer lol. NFR brought back her strong interesting songwriting and the production lended to it even if it did become really samey in some stretches of the album. I agree she definitely got too comfortable and it’s why her music is in the position it’s in now
there's another part about music in general we should consider when talkin about any artist/album and that is how each individual feels about it and the headspace each listener is in
for example...when I was listening to Lust For Life it was all I played all summer after coming home from the beach and it was the perfect bop along with great memories
BTD was what got me into her music and even influenced my sense of style and even though I've overplayed it to the point of no return it's still one of my fav albums oat
this my first rollout of the year from an artist i love, not engaging with pointless negativity cocc otw

lust of life came around the perfect time for me too. i was out and about every day with my ex and that album was in constant rotation. despite the sound on a few of the tracks, i get a very happy and joyous feeling from that album and era. it also feels like a slight callback to the born to die era that fans were begging for.

I wasn't a big fan of Ultraviolence until last year, I started to revisit her discography after NFR's success. It's a solid album, probably fourth best behind BTD, Paradise and NFR. I grew to like Lust for life somewhat, but Honeymoon is still pretty trash.
cover art is horrid but real ones know Norman F***ing Rockwell was one of the best albums of 2019
y'all got an album ranking?
Ultraviolence
Born to Die
Lust For Life
Paradise
Norman F***ing Rockwell
Honeymoon
nfr
ultraviolence
btd
L4L/honeymoon
yup lol i might give honeymoon the edge because there are some really weak joints on LFL but it has higher highs.
nfr
ultraviolence
btd
L4L/honeymoon
Paradise over Honeymoon and this is perfect.

this is a perfect example of lana's bittersweet style...I dunno.. I cant describe it any better than that
