"Blade of Grass" and "How Bad Do U Want Me" (and "Die with a Smile," tbh) are literally my least faves, lol.

Sounds like the 1989/reputation Taylor, albeit with much better vox throughout.

"For all the album’s overt raucousness, it still conforms to tried and tested pop songwriting, as well as dynamic manipulation, and lacks the randomness that would qualify as actual mayhem. Almost every song builds through its intros, verses, and pre-choruses so that the tracks are brickwalled by the time they hit the chorus. Gaga does this because overloading the senses works—it creates a larger-than-life sound that coordinates well with her overall persona, a too-muchness that’s spitting distance from camp. Brickwalling for effect solidified as one of Gaga’s sonic signatures on Born This Way. All these years later, she remains a crusader in the loudness wars."

This might be one of the most embarrassing bits of a review I've seen in a very long time. I really hope people aren't reading this gibberish and then repeating it on social media. Good lord.

album is ok to good. I'd probably take it over The Fame even though it's singles are much better. doesn't touch The Fame Monster tho

production is stellar but the songwriting is very derivative. She performs it well but some songs sound poorly hatched together from other hits. Killah is basically a Prince cover. Her best songs have great melodies but she often misses here. Madonna by comparison has a far more consistent track record. Whatever, the album is fun, she gives it all and I like her.

  • Did anyone else get reminded of Sign O The Times title track with Killah?

This is like Gaga's loveletter/homage to some of my favorite 80's artists. The Bowie and Prince influence is crazy, I can't stop listening.
