Nah Kendrick has done more than dabbled. GKMC and TPAB were both LA af. OD and S.80 def had that "new west" sound too. Only album that had absolutely zero LA sound on it was Damn

The beat samples a funk group from Ohio. That where most LA niggas got their samples from (G Funk wise). Idk man I think Alchemist/Kendrick channeled their inner LA for that song, it feels like I’m growing up in Compton seeing the same things that Kendrick did whenever I listen to that song
