All he would have to do is play his Sade song and there's nothing beating this

I would honestly pick smooth operator just off the strength of how iconic that song is but this is a classic too

I don't think he would play a sade song for a sade song

hmm we approaching this a lot differently than i originally expected

there’s a lot of music i’m gonna be playing that doesn’t deserve to lose but i could care less, i just wanna have a fun time.. i’m not limiting myself in the slightest – sade is an r&b essential for the 80’s & not using her in fear of her losing isn’t.. idk the word but i don’t like it

if u played stronger than pride i’d play

    or

& sade is more than likely winning

We have to. The 80's and 90's were radically different from each other and you have the upper hand in almost every scenario outside of the big two. I understand where you're coming from but I can't think of it as "essential to the 80's" because if that was the case, I'd play Freddie Jackson and Anita Baker and they'd also get ate up. Maybe I'll have a change of heart before it starts or even in the middle of it, but I'd rather go with certified bangers that everybody can enjoy. By the way, they'd both eat Love is Stronger Than Pride alive.

The only way to match Sade's energy is with another Sade song or Anita Baker, who already peaked in the 80's. @saveme is a tough cookie.

see this making me feel bad cuz i’m not limiting myself one bit

& remember u gotta play to the audience.. niggas don’t know s*** about anita baker on here lol, prolly wouldn’t recognize 1 song by her

but sade is a completely different story.. idk i just don’t want u limiting urself is all

i wanna have the complete experience

Just playing it safe because I'm the underdog. Just know that I can't afford to waste any rounds playing something they "might like" or because "it's essential to the 80's". That means nothing to a new listener. I'm tagging people that f*** with R&B but many of them don't even go beyond the 2000's, let alone the 90's and 80's. I'm sticking to family favorites and mega hits.

There's a few giants that haven't been mentioned yet that's gonna surprise some. Not only by the quality but because they were actually produced in the 80's, not the 70's.

This should be fun,90s R&B should win but with the right playlist,80s has a good chance for the upset

  • Outstanding is strong enough to go toe to toe with any song. I don't see it losing to anything and I hope I'm right.
