BuzzFeed: Kennedy Ross Playing With Puppies While Answering Fan Questions

Q: The big thing everybody wants to know is who’s on the album?

A: I don’t wanna give too much away but i’ll say i’ve gotten to work with some of my biggest inspirations and it’s honestly a dream come true, i really feel blessed. I’m actually planning on dropping a single in the next few days.

Q: Have you ever considered making a clothing brand?

A: Oh yeah I love fashion to be honest, i grew up around it, and actually i have some stuff in the works its just a matter of getting everything figured out, honestly might drop some stuff before the album comes out.

Q: What inspired you to make music and how do you go about writing?

A: It’s always just felt like it’s what i was supposed to do, i can’t really explain it. I tried over things, my parents tried to get me into modeling, i tried sports, i tried having a “normal job” and honestly none of it felt right to me, but this music s*** always felt right. And honestly writing songs has always been hard for me, i always feel inspired, but barely anything ever comes from that, if i sit myself down and try and force a song i can’t. I have versions on top of versions on top of versions of everything i make and i have so many demos that i feel like i can never finish. I honestly have a lot of collaboration in the studio and i’m not really ashamed to say that, these collaborations just help put into words what i can’t.

Q: What’s it like working with Kevin Parker?

A: Insane. It’s literally a dream come true. He’s given me so much sauce hahah. He’s putting me on a whole new level and he’s introduced me to so many people and just everything about this opprotunity still doesn’t feel real.

Q: You were seen in the studio with Post Malone and Playboi Carti recently, how did that happen?

A: That was all Kevin, he hooked me and Post up, and Carti came through that same session later. I don’t wanna spoil too much but we definitely worked on some stuff.

Q: You and Elijah Watts have also been seen hanging out recently is there any collabs coming out of that?

A: We worked on some stuff, but i don’t know if we’ll put any of it out. I just wanted to meet him because i feel like we’re in a really similar place right now. He played me some of his album and it sounds amazing, him and Tyler are really making something special.

Q: A lot of people have accused you of being an industry plant how do you feel about that?

A: People think i’m ignoring it but i genuinely read every single comment, all the love, all the hate, i see everything. I can’t pretend like i didn’t come from a good supportive family, but i promise you that i’m in this for the love of music, i never expected to get where i’m at, i’ll just say that.

Q: Alright final question, when can we expect the album?

A: I’m over half way done with it right now, I think i’m gonna drop 1-2 singles to hold everybody over, but i wanna drop it some time in the next month!

Q: How do you guys feel about the leak? Has it effected the process at all?

Chloe: Yeah, (laughs awkwardly) no more sending files over Gmail. For sure

SOPH: There was definitely miscommunication but, being great always comes with bumps in the road

Q: Chloe, your collective DGP has been making a lot of noise
in the underground scene, will any of them be on the album?

Chloe: No, nothing personal at all. I've just been away for a lot of the new s*** we've made. We're dropping DGP Volume 2 soon and I'm on a few songs. Their all back home working

Q: What drew you guys too each other? Two different sounds. How did it all come together?

SOPH: When I was in LA on Melrose there was this tall girl and she had on these 3M pants, they hurt to look at but I was so intrigued. We ended up talking for an hour or so and she played a few demos and I immediately knew I HAD to work with this girl

Chloe: I've been a fan since I was in Raider Klan. Meeting her was surreal

Q: Any features on the album? Billie? I know you guys have been pretty close recently.

Chloe: Unfortunately, my wife isn't on the album (laughs)

Q: Wife???

Chloe: Yeah Billie and I are together, that don't mean she on the album tho. I don't even like her music like that (laughs hysterically) Why would i put her on the album? No I'm Joking she's talented but when we're in the house we're usually playing
some Tube Corleone or SPACE, I f*** with both of them tough

Q: WIll they be on the album?

Chloe: No but I wanna definitely lock in with both of them. Travis is on the album, Sophie. Oh and Meg Thee Stallion, maybe.
