Think they are already among the stronger ones but I liked especially the latter two faster.

one of the worst moments in music journalism. The album ain't bad but it was the final victory for poptimism to reign and just ignore artists who are not easily accessible and a bit more obscure and would actually benefit from more exposure.

basically the Margaret Thatcher of music journalism ideologies.

Won't someone think of the plight of the male indie rocker?

It wasn't the final nail in anything. It was the first step in the acceptance of pop as music worthy of critiquing. KTT-favorite Charli XCX wouldn't be where she is if critics didn't pause and stop being elitist snobs when it comes to pop

reflektor title track a masterful song but most of the rest I just cant vibe with.

yeah it was tiring but I took my time with it. Once I had a certain method for finishing each sxn it got pretty easy. I worked out the layout probably 1-1.5 months ago (I always get the layout ready before the deadline) just to make things even easier

first of all, no one needs bourgeois feminism. True, there is a gender element in that recent stroke of poptimism but I think that it's actually a representation of reacting to the most recent wave of feminism combined with free market ideology. In turn I think it's actually in a werd way sexist but in a form of fetishization of an already pre-established femininity, which has been constructed by our society beforehand. What it does well though is breaking new grounds for other genders/queer people. So that's the pro thing about it. However, poptimism is also classist in it's nature because it plays to the most common denominator and therefore ignores contradictory ideas to the status quo.

Pop deserves as much critical evaluation as anything else because it's music. That was the one major fault of rockism. The other one being the sexism you've already pointed out.

Poptimism has been around for half a century. In what universe was Emotion the "first step"?

And Aruji didnt say anything about male indie rockers — he just said lesser known and more challenging artists
