I don't recall but I usually spend ungodly hours at ungodly times of the night working on those layouts trying to get every detail right. And making them just kinda happens organically over time.
I'll start with a basic combination of picture, text, number, placements and try to find creative ways to present it. If I get nowhere I'll restart, rinse repeat while trying different texts. I dunno how I stumbled myself onto the complexity of this one but I do remember being hunched over 6 inches away from my screen perfecting every line that I could for HOURS. It takes a special type of psychopathic commitment to spend your mid-20s making complex layouts in google slides for multiple hours on end for 10s of people to see but I am that person. I've pretty much hit the creative ceiling with the last 3 Redux threads and don't know if I could apply my psychotic commitment to film layouts, especially considering the length of a film poster adds a completely different dynamic I'm not ready for
R u not aware of how many millions of hours I've spent organizing my digital and physical music and movie libraries

K I've explained to you how I make them I don't know what else to do to help you make them. It's pretty much trial and error lol

I just mean like uh what application do you use to make these
As much as I love films I feel as if my decade lists would be super basic. I watch plenty of s*** but unlike music the stuff that hits the top is pretty obvious with a couple more obscure things scattered throughout. It’s just easier to dig through a lot of albums compared to films.
Dang i feel the opposite tbh. I mean yeah the amount of albums to discover since like 1960 seems infinite, but for me film is the same way but back another half-century, nearly doubling the amount of stuff i'd find interesting
I mean yeah there are the awesome, big name icons — and bunch of albums/compilations/singles — from the 40s and 50s. Elric is like the grand puba of that s***. But the Tin Pan Alley and Brill Building eras of music industry don't appeal to me much outside of an interesting single here and there. Of course there are exceptions for great pre-60s stuff, like the Everly Bros, but I wouldn't have even given people like that a second glance had Elric and others not served them to me on a silver platter.
In contrast, the amount of films (and filmmakers even) the 1910s-1950s I've discovered rival the films I've seen from the latter half of the century in terms of quality and quantity. And i still feel like i've just scratched the surface still.

Google Slides lol. I don't know how to use photoshop or any fancy editing technique software.
i think my film taste is more interesting than my music taste tbh
i have a lot more to say when it comes to films
I trust your recs for books too broski
Funny enough I was actually working on a layout for Lordie too use for hos 2010s film list. I couldn't really create anything I liked. Looks like I deleted it as well so I can't look back and see what I'd change
It’s a fun medium to get really into but too time consuming and film circles are way more obnoxious than music ones.
I was about to agree with you on film fans being more obnoxious, but idk... Music Twitter is a hellspawn with T Swift, Gaga, Beyonce, etc stan culture
And then you've got the granddaddy of them all when it comes to being an obnoxious cult

What ever came of that? I remember we all posted our lists like almost a year ago and i dont remember any results being posted, unless they were and i have competely forgotten about it

The oldest stuff i remember my Bama family played when i was growing up was George Jones (of course). But i dont think anything older than that afaik
Dang the goat sonic youth album washing machine not on the list
I just checked the google doc in OP with all the albums that fell outside the top 150, and it looks like I was the only one who voted for Washing Maching (number 34 in my list)

Idk if it's the goat SY album but The Diamond Sea is a top 3 joint.

it was like a fever dream. kinda like the OG lists on ktt1 and eventually these as well. lost in the void and will simply be a blip of pointless information on an obscure music discussion thread once we all die.

I have been jamming George Jones

I will maybe be 60 one day and think about these and think "cool times" and continue being sad or some s*** i dont know.

Well i remember all our music decades lists cause they were all posted in one section and all (or most) of the links were kept in the rock/indie directory.
All those links are still there on the OG site btw. I've been thinking about archiving them, or at least the results posts.
Do you still have the google docs you made for older lists?
