suzukithere are plenty of great soul albums but i think its maybe more of a singles genre..a lot of classic singles not on albums, a lot of incredible compilations...i say that as someone who's favorite genre is reggae (which is definitely not an album focused genre). maybe im wrong tho, im not super schooled on it
Berry Gordy rarely let a single get released without putting it on an album later and then letting five other artists do a cover of it as well

the debut being roxy's highest placement is shocking to me. i always thought its kinda top heavy. that being said side A is flawless and one of the greatest album sides ever maybe, and spotify slots virginia plain into it too, which elevates it even further
