there are plenty of great soul albums but i think its maybe more of a singles genre..a lot of classic singles not on albums, a lot of incredible compilations...i say that as someone who's favorite genre is reggae (which is definitely not an album focused genre). maybe im wrong tho, im not super schooled on it
Berry Gordy rarely let a single get released without putting it on an album later and then letting five other artists do a cover of it as well
